Sprint HTC Hero bits: Retail pricing revealed and Best Buy Reward Zone customers to get early access

With the release of the HTC Hero on Sprint getting closer and closer we are beginning to see more and more details become available and the latest deals with off-contract pricing as well as Best Buy Reward Zone customers getting early access.

First things first, before we begin to get jealous about those lucky Best Buy customers lets mention the off-contract pricing. Typically the off-contract pricing is outrageous and hardly worth considering for most people. Of course there are always exceptions to any rule — and this seems to be one of those exceptions. According to Leakdroid, they have received word that the “Hero will officially be available for $329.99 off-contract!”

Sounds pretty good, and although its still higher than the $179.99 that customers willing to sign a two-year agreement will pay, its still pretty reasonable.

Moving on though, it looks like certain customers, or more specifically Best Buy Reward Zone customers will be able to purchase a Sprint HTC Hero a few days early. Of course, the details on this still seem a little sketchy, however according to a recently circulated flyer, those Reward Zone customers will have access as of Friday morning instead of having to wait until Sunday like the rest of us. For that, I would say give your local Best Buy a call and confirm before heading out. I did try and call my closest Best Buy and was greeted with the typical sitting on hold, being transferred around and general confusion.

Of course, even without getting the Hero a little early, Best Buy may still be a good place to consider making your purchase because they are doing it rebate free — it will just be a flat $179.99.
