HTC begins the Sense rollout on older models Android phones

As promised, HTC has begun rolling out the Sense UI to older model Android phones. Of course, not everyone is going to be seeing that update just yet.

While the roll-out has officially begun, it is currently limited to the HTC Magic, and only in Taiwan.

According to the details, it looks like those lucky Magic users will have the full Sense UI experience — just like those running the Hero. But with that, there is still some question as to what version of Android those Taiwan Magic users are receiving. Because unlike most other Android handsets, those of us using the HTC Hero on Sprint are, and will be running 1.5 for a while longer.

Unfortunately, HTC has not yet offered up any details about which other handsets and areas are next in line to receive the Sense UI update other than a general in the coming weeks. That said, for those outside the Taiwan market, do not, I repeat, do not be tempted to try and update with any leaked Taiwanese ROM that may find its way onto the Internet.
