Those waiting for Android 1.6
will may have soon good news to wake up to this morning because the update process has begun. According to details being reported by TmoNews, the 1.6 update is being sent out to “select G1 handsets” as of last night at midnight and then after a 24-hour wait period that same update will begin to show up for myTouch 3G users.
Of course, while I am waiting anxiously like most everyone else, it is important to point out that this is a staggered rollout. Basically that means it may take a little while for everyone to actually see it. Nonetheless, this is another exciting day for Android geeks.
As of now, I have not seen any direct link for those looking to perform a manual update, but as you would expect, we will post an update when/if that becomes available. In the meantime, sit back and try and wait patiently.
