So, while were here in the US were off playing with fireworks and generally acting a fool, it looks like others were busy uncovering what is rumored to be Sony Ericsson’s first Android handset.
This, of course is all still in the rumor category, but that said, I can say that I hope this is one that proves true. Anyway, in terms of the handset, it is going to be an XPERIA model and the specs are looking to be pretty solid.
As you may expect at this point, the handset will be a full touchscreen device. But that aside, it is also being rumored to feature a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, have 7.2Mbps HSDPA support, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Due to the slim look, it does not appear that it will be packing any physical QWERTY keyboard.
Overall, assuming these details are accurate, this could be that first Android handset that Peter Ang mentioned back in late May that would be running Android 2.0 and “coming soon.”
