T-Mobile has recently begun rolling out a small update for G1 users. The update will bring the version number from CRB43 to CRC1 and is noted as offering bug fixes, permissions fixes as well as some additional improvements for developers.
“The latest G1 software update includes permissions fixes and other bug fixes”
Of course, aside from the ‘official’ statement, actual users are reporting seeing an increase in overall speed and performance after the update. Personally, I have not updated my G1 as of yet, mainly due to the fact that I had been on the understanding that this was just a minor update and since I was not having any issue, did not feel it was as important. I guess I should get that installed and see about the speed and performance first hand.
Hopefully the next update we see will be a major one, possibly rolling out Donut.

I got this update on th weekend. Ever since when I have no signal I get a message about roaming and get the roaming icon in my status bar.
This morning when I woke up this morning I was connected to Vodafone!
I have not noticed much of an improvement in speed since this update, and I have not experienced any roaming notifications.
Currently my build is CRB17 not the "43"
