Feeling a little left out after seeing the sweet looking user interface know as Sense that is coming along with the HTC Hero, well worry no more because a group over at xda-developers has come with a nice little thorough how to in terms of how to install Sense on your G1.
I will give a fair bit of warning before you get all excited and hit the link below — the directions seem to be pretty long and more than a little risky. That said, if you are feeling the need for some Sense, then click the xda-developers link below.
Personally, I am going to be sitting this one out, of course that should not stop anyone else from feeling brave enough to run the Hero user interface.

a little sluggish but apparently doesn't run much better on the actual units i would like to see it on one of the new sony android 1ghz units. I had widgets running on all 5 desktops and it was still usable
It's veeeery slow, even with an optimized version.
Not worth it, because it's just eye-candy.
