Free Exchange ActiveSync EMAIL app available for Android

Free apps
Android just got a bit more business-friendly thanks to a leaked copy of the HTC Work EMail application. Work EMail is essentially the HTC-created Exchange client seen on the HTC Magic that gives Android a free, stable connection to a Microsoft Exchange server. This marks the first time that such an app was available on the T-Mobile G1 or HTC Magic and Dream phones that didn’t come with out-of-the-box Exchange Support.
For many corporate suits and office spacers, Exchange is a must-have tool of the trade. It keeps work email accounts ready at the hip with a synced inbox and push notifications. Touchdown and other third-party Exchange clients attempted to fill in the gap, but at $20, these apps ranked among the most expensive in the Android Market.
Work Email is free and can be downloaded from Nexeo.net. Visit the website and read the QR code with the Barcode Scanner app or download directly from the link to install on your device. You may also notice that Sherpa is available for download. More on that later

Great. But I didn't find an option where activate sync of the exchange-calendar?!
Google Calendar Synch Desktop app knows how to do that. It allows you to push Outlook calendar events to your Google Calendar which will in turn allow you to synch your Android device with your Google Calendar thereby pulling your newly uploaded Outlook Calendar info to your mobile device.
Yeah, we get it….Google Calendar sync's my outlook calendar. However, be careful not to pull too much wool over peoples eyes. Google has HORRIBLE privacy rules/guidlines. In addition, if I have important client contact info that can sometimes be confidential I WILL NOT allow Google to maintain copies in there magic little "cloud" servers. Also, I have family member who did this and now their contacts are really messed up. Google needs to re-think their purpose and place in the enterpirze mobile market. OUTLOOK may be a microsoft product…but it is a REALLY good one. NO other email client has even come close to matching it. I have read about and tried several other email clients….local clients, web based, and they all come up short in comparison. If google wants to compete in the email client world they better hire a lot of software engineers and get to it, or contract it out. Either way, as it is right now, Google can search it, filter it, and get the info to you, but leave the emailing to the pros.
Sorry, Work Email doesn't support calendar sync
too bad it does not support calendar, it would have been really cool
Will it sync Calander in future?
Will it sync Calander in future?
The best way to sync calendar is to sync outlook or exchange calendar with google calendar and then sync it with the phone. BTW, you could do the same with contacts. It worked very well for me.
Try DME (http://www.excitor.com), in Holland available through http://www.mass.bv.eu or contact me: deruiteronline@gmail.com
http://www.citynt.com does it all
been using em for months now…
Are appointment invitations from exchange able to be accepted or denied with this?
How do I sync my calendar on my personal droid?
One alternative is to install Google calendar sync on your PC. it will sync with Gmail calendar tah is supported by Nexus One. However it requires your PC to be powered on…. not ideal but could allow you to wait for a fix. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer…
I would like to download a different calendar than the google (gmail) one that is on my Android (Behold II). I need one that can schedule repeating apointments, ie every 5 or 6 weeks, or more. The gmail calendar only goes up to a month/ 4 weeks. Any ideas??
?clueless domain?,server? didnt tell me anything..some1 help…please!
ive been tryin for 5 months…server addrress not responding domain or ssl code!
out server requires USB connection to make partnership. has any one found a way around this?
Okay, this is my crazy issue. I have installed it, it is finding the server…but I get the error “Authentication Failed. Please verify username and/or password.” I think I know why. I know my password and I have logged into it on our local site with my password. My issue is that my Username has a space in it. (First Last) When I enter my name into it the way it is in my Microsoft Outlook with that space, the app automatically erases it. I tried a period, an under-dash and just typing in my email addy and that same error pops up. Is there anything I can do? Or do I need to contact support and have someone change my UserName? Thanks!
Your username should not have a space – find the domainusername from your admin and try again. Also, if your Exchange Server has a PIN security rule then it won;t work since the Android devices use a a pattern based security and not a numeric PIn based security like other phones. The only option in that case is Touchdown.

I maybe resurrecting an old dead thread but I would just like to thank Vish for confirming this. Work Email used to work for me just fine until one day my company decided to implement a PIN security rule and viola, Work email is useless anymore. Anobody now a workaround for this?
my work mail requires a pin rather than pattern, but it worked (Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.2, generic email app). Just had to allow the "remote administrator" to make these changes. TBH no idea how that would work in Androinica, since I haven't downloaded that yet.
vish. can you please say that again?
For the work email, in case I install in Milestone, how can I choose ringtone? So far we can choose only on and off, I’d like to choose something special. Thanks.
how do i disable this app? i kinda dont wanna have to transfer all my private info over to my job net server!
