Rumor: HTC’s new Sense user interface coming to existing Android phones

The HTC Hero was officially unveiled yesterday morning and since then the device has received more than its fair share of attention, which as best as I can tell is partly because of the Flash support and partly because of the incredible looking user interface.
Anyway, there maybe some good news coming later in the year for existing Android users who are drooling over the interface. According to HTC CEO Peter Chou;
“HTC sense will be available on some other existing devices.”
It seems to be pretty simple, especially due to the fact that there are so few other Android handsets on the market right now. Personally I am thinking that the Sense UI would be pretty sweet on the upcoming myTouch3G from T-Mobile.
Unfortunately, as with most statements they can generally be interpreted in many ways, and in this case Peter Chou would not go into any further detail. Basically, it looks like existing Android users can continue to enjoy the mobile OS and in the meantime hope to get some Sense later in the year.

The Dream and Magic both have nearly identical hardware chracteristics as the Hero. The hero boasts a different processor and more RAM as the only performance differences but I have a feeling that Sense will be optimized for use on the already existing handsets. The Dream and Magic even have multitouch capable touch screens, The only reason we don’t have multitouch on those phones is because the features coding was never finished (most likely due to threats from Apple) and was subsequently commented out. I honestly think that both the Magic and Dream will see official options to add Sense. Of course, even if it doesn’t happen, the Geniuses over at XDA Developers can, and probably will make it happen. and when they do, I will be more than happy to deposit a fitting donation for their hard work.
