The HTC Hero is slated for a European release on contract in early July, which starts this week by the way, and Amazon UK also has it sights on delivering the phone next month. Amazon.co.uk has the HTC Hero, branded as the G1 Touch on T-Mobile UK, available without a carrier for £429.99. Sounds like a lot, but hey, you get free shipping in the UK.
The product page for the “HTC Hero 3g Android Sim Free Mobile Phone” says the device will be released July 15th. Orange UK and T-Mobile UK also promised to release the phone next month but have yet to give a concrete date of delivery like Amazon. Those who opt to wait for the carriers will be able to get the phone at a subsidized price.
The HTC Hero is the first Android phone to use HTC’s new Sense interface, customized platform, and Scene settings. It will be released in Europe next month, Asia later this summer, and in North America at some point in 2009.
