The HTC Magic, previously seen in immaculate white only, has been spotted in deep black. Mobile Cowboys posted photos of the black Magic — no pun intended — taken at CeBIT, a computer expo taking place in Germany this week. The phone lacks the Vodafone or T-Mobile branding and shows only the HTC logo. Engadget points out that probably means an unlocked version of the phone may become available (I think it may also mean other companies besides Vodafone/T-Mobile may sell it in other markets).
Images posted on Mobile Review show the Magic with an icon set that differs from what we’ve previously seen on Android. For instance, the Browser is a globe rather than a globe inside of a window and the messaging, contacts, calendar, and other common apps don’t look the same either.
Obviously, it’s the color of the phone that shows the biggest difference. Black seems to be the de facto color of for smartphones in America, but the Magic looks pretty good in white, too. I’d probably prefer it that way.
Which color do you like better?
