The HTC Magic, which is rumored to be heading to T-Mobile here in the US has recently made an appearance with the FCC. However, the FCC listing is sending a little bit of good news and bad news.
To begin with, the good news is that this is required before we ever see it become available in the retail market. But the bad news is that it seems to be lacking support for the 1700MHz band, which is what will be required for T-Mobile’s 3G access. Of course, that more than likely means we will just see two versions of the HTC Magic, which would be similar to the current G1.
Bottom line, an FCC appearance usually means good things when it comes to the upcoming release of a phone, but sadly it does not give us any time frame of when we can expect to actually be able to see it in the store.
