Google shows a T-Mobile-branded HTC Magic

Did Google accidentally reveal details that T-Mobile wasn’t prepared to share? That’s the question some are asking after Google’s VP of Engineering demoed a new Gmail feature on a T-Mobile-branded HTC Magic. For those of you keeping score, the HTC Magic is a Vodafone exclusive geared to European and New Zealand markets. But the “Magic” that Google’s VP Vic Gundotra used to show Gmail’s offline capability features a T-Mobile logo on the device. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Does that mean the “Magic” will hit North America as the Sapphire/G2 as we originally suspected? If so, Gundotra may have accidentally let it slip that T-Mobile will get the apparently similar device in the U.S. market during his demonstration speech at Mobile World Congress. Take a closer a look at the T-Mobile branding in this photo.
