Turn-by-turn navigation now available for Android, just not for the US

Thanks to the recent introduction of turn-by-turn navigation, Android seems to be gaining some additional progress over the iPhone. The program is called AndNav2 and it provides “full audible turn-by-turn realtime route-guidance.” The app is available as a free download, however it is supported through ads and donations, additionally there are no monthly charges or fees to download future map upgrades.

Some of the features that can be found in AndNav2 include full text-2-speech, route to contacts, 4-day weather forecast, the ability to avoid certain areas or roads, saving of routes, driving statistics as well as car, pedestrian and bicycle navigation routes.

Unfortunately, this is not currently available in the US. Instead the navigation will be available for those in the UK, Germany, Ireland, France, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Austria.
