This is not the first time we have heard news of an Android-powered handset coming from Huawei. Initially they announced that they would be offering an Android phone in the first half of 2009, except the latest news is calling for a Q3 release.
“Huawei can confirm that their first Android smartphone is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2009. Huawei’s smartphones can be ordered and developed for Australian operators based on any such requests,” the spokesperson said.
So know we have a new confirmed release time frame, of course we are still missing the most important details — the features and the pricing. It looks like 2009 should be a pretty exciting time for Android, we should begin to see plenty of new handsets making their way to market. We are already waiting for the Kogan Agora which is expected to be released on January 29 in the Australian market.
