T-Mobile G1 reportedly “pouring into China”

Despite the G1 only officially being available with T-Mobile here in the US, there are reports that it has been “pouring into China” since it was released on October 26. According to the details the G1 is selling for RMB 3,999 (about $585 US) in Beijing’s Zhongguancun. Sadly as if that was not expensive enough the handset also requires an unlock in order to be used on local carriers. The unlock is reported to cost an additional RMB 500 (around $70 US). Despite a “relatively large supply” of the G1, according to some “unauthorized product sellers” the prices are expected to remain where they are.
