It looks like Asus will soon be jumping on the Android bandwagon, recent reports have them looking to have an Android based handset available sometime in the “first half of 2009.” Unfortunately as of now the details are pretty light, and although this is coming from “company sources” the plans have not yet been officially confirmed.
As for availability, it is looking like the handset will land initially in Taiwanese stores, and then later become available in other markets. As expected no word yet on any pricing or specs. One thing that we can only hope is that they release an Android handset and not numerous models like they have done with the Eee PC.
